Ties

Whatzit?
I've got a bit of a thing for ties. Actually I have kind of a ridiculous amount of neck nooses - I think 35 at last count.  For years I worked in positions that did not require ties, and now that I teach every day, I seem to be making up for lost time.  And of course the kids tend to really like the wacky ones.

And the various accessories to keep them in place.  The tie necklace as my student prefer to call the chain is my favourite and the most functional, although the fake diamond stud at the bottom right that was Dad's is always a good conversation starter.

  1. Did you get a full time teaching job or are you still just supply?

My husband hates wearing ties and is so glad that business casual is the norm at his office now.

  4. Wow what a wonderful collection of great ties. I stopped wearing them a few years back and I see the young blood new men teachers are back to wearing ties. I may have to dig out a few of mine.

  5. What a guy! These ties are all sorted into categories! I don't really like ties. I was happy when teacher's dress regulations were changed so that we could wear something more comfortable. Track and field wearing a jacket and tie just wasn't cool!

  6. Quite a collection. I think my hubby has hundreds of them, including his first. He wears one maybe once or twice a year, depending on how many funerals/weddings we go to.

  7. You have enough ties to make a quilt! I do think the scrabble one is dashing looking:)
