Winter Wonderland

Gone away is the bluebird
Here to stay is a new bird
He sings a love song, as we go along
Walkin' in a Winter Wonderland

Awaiting new petunias come spring.
Another of those round-to-it jobs that I haven't got round to.

Yesterday was just one of those perfect winter mornings.  The sun was sparkling on the new-fallen snow, and hoar frost coated every available surface. Sometimes the gardens can be almost as spectacular this time of year as mid summer in all their blossoming splendour.

Don't forget my contest - Musical Gardener Contest
And that is about all I have to say for today.

Musings and meanderings from the Musical Gardener.

  1. Lovely pictures, but snow is one of those things I enjoy more in a picture than in person. ('Cept for the very first snowfall of the year ... that is always magical.) But no snow in Georgia. It was so warm here yesterday, I washed and waxed my car.

  2. The pictures are lovely and very seasonal. However, I am glad you got the snow to enjoy and we didn't,

  3. So, I am reading your other post and see my name. Well, well I say to myself, I have made the big time, someone is mentioning me. Then I click on "More" and a blank page comes up. Story of my life - shot down in mid-sentence. It was nice that you wrote that I was a good read. Thank you very much, I appreciate the compliment but am curious on how it ended.

  4. Beautiful. Makes me feel happy too. I love a bright sunny winter day.

  5. Beautiful shots. Yes I still have a few things out there that I will move into the shed eventually.
    Stay warm.

  6. Awesome shots! It's hard to make a good photo of a plain ordinary object.

  7. Hi Accepting Changes. Here is the original post you mentioned. I had to hunt for it to find it.

"Secondly Arleen at Starting Over, Accepting
Changes - Maybe who has been one of my long time followers (yes I know I've only been blogging eleven months) has nominated me for the The Versatile Blogger Award - my first award nomination. If you haven't checked out her site before, it's a great read, and she sees and tells life like it is. Thanks so much for your kind nod my way. I will figure out how to best respond in the next few days."

Not sure why it came up blank for you, it appears to be working well on my end.

  8. Looks like you got some snow. None here yet in fact we have temps in the 60ºs predicted for later this week.

  9. Great shot of the snow-encrusted cat-tails. However, you can keep the white stuff up north with you.

Much appreciated comments from my friends:
