Another Concert Under Our Belt

Yesterday afternoon was our personal house concert and potluck for my choir, Melodia Monday, at the home of our leaders, Doug and Sue Routledge.  Unfortunately it was also the same time as my daughter's stage band and choir concert at her high school.  Since I cannot yet split myself two ways, I had to make a horrible choice.  The Missus went to the band concert and I went solo, to my choir concert.  Why do things seem to pile up so this time of year?  I feel badly for missing Youngest's concert, as she'll never be a senior again - I will definitely be there for the spring concert.

Anyway back to our choir.  We were the walking wounded.  Actually I almost felt guilty, I was as healthy as a horse but  nearly all the soloists were down for the count - nasty throat thing going through our midst.

Sue warmly welcoming the crowd.

Panarama of some of the choir.
Diane - Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
Fortunately the weather was great for traveling and we had a pleasant turnout.  We did about ten numbers and had several familiar singalongs with the audience, as well as the aforementioned solo and group work.

'Twas a very pleasant way to get into the holiday spirit.  Afterwards there was a sumptuous potluck spread and time to chat with various folks.  A freewill offering was collected for the Gananoque Food Bank at the end of the afternoon's performance.  I think I can safely speak on behalf of the group when I say, a fine time was had by all.
Punch table being prepped.
Pleasant conversation and good eats.

  1. What a difficult choice to have to make about the concert attendance. At least you will be able to attend your daughter's spring concert. This one looks fabulous. Nice photos.

  2. No matter how many times we experience concerts, they're always a thrill. That comes from Mr. Non Musical. However, I enjoy music.
