Late Summer Wild Flowers

It's that time again, to revisit the wilds and see who is busy blooming their little hearts out. There is just so much colour out in the great outdoors these days.

Wild Aster
Any suggestions?

Smartweed - a very healthy specimen
This is in someone's backyard, not sure if it is a tame plant gone wild?

Again, another unknown?

Jewelweed/Touch-Me-Not

Boneset/Joe Pye Weed
Some sort of reed

Bull Thistle

Turtle's Head
Goldenrod

Another funny little wetland grass.
White Asters
Water Lily

'Nother shot.

And that is about all I have to say for today.

Musings and meanderings from the Musical Gardener.

  2. Lovely woodland and field wild flowers. It's amazing what you can find blooming out there beyond the limits of our own controlled gardens.

Thanks for your comments on my blog of late. I've added you to my list so I can check what you're up to more frequently.

  3. I had forgotten about Smartweed. We had that in Iowa when I was a kid. They would advertise chemicals to kill it out of your corn and beans. Nice set of wild flowers shots.
