Fifty years ago today was Labour Day, 1961. My mother was never particularly amused by the irony of that fact.
It's my party and I'll cry if I want to. Well actually I'm not crying, I'm happy to be celebrating another birthday - better than the alternative, I always say. Fifty is just a number (albeit a darn big one). So here is a picture for each of fifty years. No don't try to associate a picture with each year, I'm not sure there are any in existence for some years. I know some of these should have never been seen printer's ink - but hey it's me, the good, the bad, and the truly ugly (think afro). Enjoy!
And that is about all I have to say for today.
Musings and meanderings from the Musical Gardener.
You have chanced across the blog of a middle-aged Ontarian who discusses (with very little actual knowledge or authority) such topics as gardening, music, supply teaching, genealogy, and cooking. Said chap is husband to lovely, talented, supportive lady (The Missus), father to two lovely, and talented teenage daughters, master/slave to three demanding and very non-talented cats. To quote the song Mr. Cellophane from the musical, Chicago "I hope I didn't take up too much of your time!"

Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, Phil. The years do go quickly, but you've certainly been filling them up with good stuff. I hit the big 6-0 this year. Now that is a bit spooky! :-)
ReplyDeleteI have bread in the oven--whole wheat and honey with flax, organic, of course. If you want a loaf for your birthday, you'll need to come get it!
By the way, I dismantled my container gardens today. Gardening is so hard in the desert. Between the heat, the ground squirrel, the mysterious hidden tomato worm(s), and the birds, I didn't get enough yield to warrant the purchase of dirt! I will try again, but Kel is not impressed.
ReplyDeleteHBD! Welcome to the 50's! They're not too bad.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! This is Your Life :)
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! Great seeing you evolve through 50 photos!
ReplyDeleteBeing one step into the sixties, I am jealous. Happy Birthday. The photo trail was amazing.
