Bloomin Annuals

I've not devoted much blog space to my annuals this year, which is hardly fair since it is the annuals that provide continuous colour from May to October.  Perennials are great, but each has its short season of brilliance and then perhaps a tiny encore later, if you deadhead, fertilize, powder and pamper at the proper times.

So here are a few of our star annual performers for you viewing enjoyment.

Heavenly Blue Morning Glory

Trusty sunflower - thanks to chipmunk stashing!
Red salvia

Wave Petunias
Cleome

Purple Millet
Nasturtium - will be putting more of these in next year - spicy edible leaves as well

More wave petunias
Red dahlia

Coleus - not a flower I know, but still very showy

Gladiolus

And that is about all I have to say for today.

Musings and meanderings from the Musical Gardener.

  1. I used to regularly buy a packet of morning glory seeds as a kid. Never saw one blossom! Yours was pretty.
