Shhh - I know it's not an oak, but don't tell anyone else, they won't notice! |
Well thank goodness for sturdy buttons. We had the Missus' clan, Thanksgiving
pigout dinner yesterday. We are getting to be quite an extended family, and each one contributes to some aspect of the meal. I think each must think that everyone else will forget their share or something. Then of course, we all feel obliged to do justice to the offerings. After all there is nothing more insulting than taking home a full bowl or tray of your favourite recipe.
I became a great uncle again, the end of August. Well kind of a great uncle by default, he's actually on the Missus' side. Yesterday was the first opportunity we've had to meet him. It was also the first time that great grandma (The MIL) got to hold baby Micah.

Four generations |
Grandma will be 86 in a couple of weeks and is still in reasonably decent health, the matriarch of the clan, mother to seven, grandma to 20 and now great grandmother to three. Quite a legacy!
And that is about all I have to say for today.
Musings and meanderings from the Musical Gardener.
Oh that is always a lot of food and good food too. I like your mighty oak in it's infancy.
ReplyDeleteThe non-oak is a good pic with all its rugged bark and branches and color. Cool! Too bad I couldn't have been with y'all. Did you show off your deck? I talked to mom last night and she didn't know anything about it.
ReplyDelete4 generations!
ReplyDeletelove that photo
Lovely analogy of the oak and your more personal family tree. Great picture of your family, too. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteFeasts where everybody contributes are the geatest.
ReplyDeleteAlways great to see four healthy generations.
Thanks for adding to the comments options so I can comment.
