Asiatic Lilies

Well it has been a bit of a struggle, but I have saved the Asiatic lilies for another season.  My adversary -- the cursed lily beetle. I've squished numerous of their crunchy little red carcasses, as well as drowned myriads of their little crap-coated larvae.  I have used Neem oil in the past, with some success, but I find that the old fashioned murder method most effective, but one must be vigilant.  The plant below, I obviously did not catch in time.  The little buggers have denuded leaves entirely and are now intent on devouring flower buds (never fear, they are resting peacefully now, and the buds will live to blossom).

Here are a few of my early blooming specimens.  I will probably do a later post of these, as I do have a lot of different varieties.  Alas, most are unnamed.  I've had lilies for a lot of years and most were purchased before I started keeping decent records and labeling varieties.
